Beni-Amer people Beni-Amer or Beni-Amir is a mixed ethnic group inhabiting Sudan and Eritrea. It was formed in the fourteenth century AD from a fusion of the Beja and the Tigre. The Beni-Amer occupy the borders between much of Eritrea's Barka valley, Port Sudan Tokar, Aqiq, and the Kassala areas of eastern Sudan. They speak Beja and Tigre, both of which belong to the Afro-Asiatic family. ==References==
